Chelsea

Top of the League..........

...............At least until Monday night when Portsmouth take on Bolton at Fratton Park, anything other than a win sees the Pompey stay in second and Man Ure in third and thats where they will stay after their surprise draw at Reading this evening.

Chelsea beat Fulham this afternoon at Craven Cottage and this victory was achieved without the services of Captain John Terry who has a back injury and Khalid Boulahrouz who was ruled out with an illness. So without a recognised centre-half to replace the afore-mentioned, up stepped Paulo Ferriera to slot into the centre-back slot alongside Ricardo Carvalho. Geremi was drafted into right back and Ashley Cole continued his left back duties.

Two Frank Lampard goals of which one came from the penalty spot in the second-half saw Chelsea avenge last season's 1-0 defeat.

Earlier in the day Chelsea were drawn away to Blackburn Rovers in the third round of the Carling Cup.

With Champions League week starting, John Terry is a major doubt for the game against Levski in Sofia on Wednesday night.

And lastly. Watch out John, your brother Paul scored for Yeovil today as they beat Crewe 2-0.
