Champions League Returns
On Tuesday Chelsea face up to the challenge of Werder Bremmen in game one of the Champions League group stage at Stamford Bridge.
Alas I won't be there as the expense of season-tickets makes additional games throughout the season prohibitive. Its not just the price of the tickets you have to take into account. Its the rest of it - travel, programme, food and at least a drink or two and the time that it takes to get home after the match.
So instead, with a couple of tins of something alcoholic, I will watch the game on TV - ITV4 - if you are in the UK.
After Bremmen Chelsea then travel to Sofia to play Levski, a team that Chelsea played a few years back in the Cup Winners Cup, winning 5-0 on aggregate.
Then its Barcelona home and away, Werder Bremmen away before finishing the group stage at home to Levski Sofia on Tuesday 5th December.
So lots of expectation and a lot of hope and with the Summer signings of Ballack and 'The Shev,' Andriy Shevchenko and the last minute transfer deadline day signing of Ashley Cole, Chelsea look set to conquer Europe and with the squad that 'The Special One' has at his disposal there is no reason why Chelsea cannot go all the way.
COME ON CHELSEA
